Reading time

Emden Parish's "Reading Hour" project was born out of a desire to give children and adults the opportunity to disconnect from everyday life and let themselves be carried away into the world of storytelling, as they once were.

"Reading time" aims to implement language, develop vocabulary, educate the much-needed ability to concentrate with which the little ones are struggling so hard nowadays. Developing the ability to understand context can also be driven by active listening.

Each story chosen comes with a message that supports and reinforces Orthodox teaching in language accessible to children. After each story, there is a small debate with those present, who want to reconfirm and extend the lessons learned from the story by each participant.

"Reading Hour" currently takes place once a month. Each story is read by a volunteer from our Parish.

To give everyone access to this project, the stories are recorded and posted on the YouTube page of the Parish, so in time, a real media library will be created, a gateway to the magical world of stories.
